Ask Dr. Rob Green how small-group training stacks up against a one-on-one personal trainer and he’ll put it plainly: the way he sees it, as long as you can count to 15, you’re getting the same level of coaching, but without the one-on-one price tag.
That belief — that great coaching should be personal, affordable, and actually enjoyable — is why he built The Fit Club to be the exact opposite of big box gyms.
Two worlds under one roof
Rob came to fitness the long way around. He’s a Certified Kinesiologist and Strength & Conditioning Specialist who competed as an athlete at Wilfrid Laurier University, then spent years coaching everyone from first-timers to CFL players, elite Ironman competitors, a top Canadian marathoner, and national squash champions.
He also put himself through chiropractic school as a personal trainer. Somewhere in there, he saw how naturally strength training and hands-on care belong together.
The same person who needs their body looked after also needs to get stronger, move better, and feel like themselves again.
So when he partnered with Dr. Jason and Dr. Tara at Price Health, he founded The Fit Club to bring those two worlds under one roof. It started famously small — an 800-square-foot room with shoulder-to-shoulder classes — and grew, over more than a decade, into the gym it is today, sharing a building with its sister clinic exactly as Rob first pictured it.
How Rob coaches
Rob built The Fit Club around fully customized, semi-private training: a coach guiding a few people at once, each on their own program, every session logged so any coach can pick up exactly where the last one left off.
No pressure sales, no long-term contracts, no big money up front. His model only works when members keep showing up, so everything is built to keep them coming back.
What drives him most is the person who’s tried to get fit on their own and fallen off, or who hasn’t set foot in a gym in years and quietly wonders if they still can. His coaching philosophy comes down to one line: you have to give people what they need by giving them what they want.
The first step is deliberately low-stakes. Come meet Rob and the team, tell them where you’re starting from, and let them build something around you.
